Introduce Yourself.

Did you think you had a fever

or did contemplations vex you;

are you furniture recognized

by the sound alone; can you be

the vacancy; what is the

back of a hand but barbaric

or yours; if you would shelter storms,

would you be willing to soften;

what would you be found without; how

to distinguish spring from making

eye contact with doors; after the

years of devotion, can you still.

Guinevere K. Smith is a poet and writer living in Bellingham, Washington. She works as an Outreach Coordinator at Western Washington University.
